Subject: CPES as primer?
Date: Tue, 09 Jul 2002

I've coated some exterior wooden beams I'm restoring with CPES, after having fixed the rotted portions. Should I still use a conventional primer paint now, or just go straight to the final paint?

Your choice. CPES serves as a primer, and the only reason to add a conventional primer is for the "build" to get a smoother finish. The wood is protected by the CPES.
