Hi Doc,

Latest update on my Yellow Jacket.

I've drilled a few exploration holes and the water came flowing. Yep she's wet. There is a wood core in the boat and it is mush. I'm assuming at this point that removing the inner glass and replacing the wood is the way to go. What are your thoughts?

Paul

Paul,

About what I thought. And yes, you're right. Remove the inner glass or cut the top off the keel glass and clean it out and let it dry. You'll get a new piece of wood to go in there, coat it thoroughly with CPES (Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer), and bond it in place. Then replace the inner glass or top of the keel glass and 75% of your work should be done.

But get back to me before you start with the new wood. Take a picture or two and either post them as a J-peg file or stick them in an envelope so I can see what you're seeing and we'll talk from there.

Doc
