Subject: Request for advice (termite damage)
Date: Sun, 06 Feb 2000
Hello again,
Last time I talked with you regarding getting my wooden hull to seal. Your advice and products were right on the mark. Since then I have been faithfully using your products and treating all the wood with the penetrating epoxy. Over the weekend I discovered some old termite damage. What do you recommend to fill the void that has been eaten away, there are several air pockets in the wood, I would say the biggest being about the size of a quarter and a little thicker than the coin. Also, I'll need to do some repair to rebuild the damaged area so it is flush with the rest of the wood, I guess I'll need some type of fairing epoxy? The depth I'll have to fill is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Look forward to hearing from you when you get a chance. Thanks
Walt S.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad that our advice and products have been
helpful. For your current situation I'd recommend CPES followed by Fill-It
epoxy filler.
This will take care of the problem. Apply a primer coat of CPES to the Fill-It
and other areas to be painted 1-2 days before you are ready to paint.
